One of the things I love the most about the Thanksgiving season is that it presents so many opportunities to reflect on our Lord’s goodness to us. An important way we express this gratitude is in song. A major component of our corporate worship at Grace Church is our edifying music, which elevates our hearts to worship the One who is worthy of all praise. Foundational to much of that music is the organ that was installed in our Worship Center in 1981.
Over the years, our three Sunday services, along with countless ministry events—including conferences and Christmas concerts, among many others—have benefited from this magnificent instrument, which is now in need of replacement. The organ’s sound is derived from computers that are now nearly thirty years old, and replacing those along with the deteriorating speakers will cost approximately $195,000. The Lord has graciously provided a generous donor who will match our Thanksgiving offering up to $100,000, so that we can immediately implement this important project. And although the monetary cost is high, our church will reap the benefits for years to come.
The Lord was kind in giving us Stephen Sturz, who is the finest church organist in our country. He has served faithfully under Clayton for more than forty years, and we have all been the richer for his musical ministry every Sunday. Grace Church is committed to worshiping God in the grandest way possible, and the organ provides musical depth that is in perfect harmony with the majesty of the God we worship and proclaim.
As you reflect this Thanksgiving on the Lord’s kindness, I hope that you will prayerfully consider making a special gift toward this important ministry of music. Your contribution will help us to continue investing in ministry to our church and community.
Thank you for all that you do in the Lord’s work. He continues to bless us abundantly!
Love in the Truth,
