I am currently working on a book entitled The War on Children. Most adults can remember the halcyon days when society sought to protect children from harm. Not anymore. Popular culture has turned on the young with an unimaginable barrage of destructive assaults. Forces in government, education, entertainment, media, and even the family are waging an aggressive campaign to brainwash children through the spread of lies regarding virtue, gender, and basic human decency. This deception is aimed at shamelessly obliterating biblical spirituality and morality by systematically dismantling the foundations of society with unconscionable malice.
Our children belong to God. They are not the property of the government, the community, the department of education, or some elite class of “experts.” Every child is a unique treasure created by God for His own sovereign purpose. He graciously places children in their parents’ care and custody, and they are uniquely accountable to God as stewards and caretakers of the children He has given them.
Raising fallen children in a fallen world is hard, especially in a society dominated by forces that openly oppose the truth and moral precepts God has revealed in His Word. But the importance of that duty cannot be overstated, a fact underscored by the way this charge to parents is repeated over and over in Scripture. Never has there been a more urgent need for believing parents to realize that there is an all-out war, and children who cannot fight back are the target.
Our church remains committed to being a storehouse of truth for the family. In this regard, we have been privileged to see the Lord immensely expand the educational options for our children in the last year. The existing homeschooling groups that meet on our campus, the inauguration of Grace Academy, and Legacy Christian Academy coming under the leadership of Grace Church have all strengthened the fight for teaching our children the truth. Classical Conversations (meets at Grace Community Church on Mondays) is a widely known educational model that offers a Christ-centered homeschool curriculum. This parent-run, community-based classical education program has been helping families for over 25 years to instill a love for learning about the Creator and His creation, especially emphasizing grammar, dialectic, and rhetoric. Faith PSP (meets at Grace Community Church on Fridays) serves and supports homeschooling families with kindergarten through twelfth-grade students. With a special emphasis on academic excellence and a biblical foundation, this program walks with parents through the homeschool process, supporting them as they teach their children. Faith PSP students enjoy an interactive school day each Friday, including chapel time and classes together on the Grace Church campus. Grace Academy (meets Monday, Wednesday, Friday in SCV; Tuesday, Thursday, Friday at Grace Community Church) is a unique, hybrid on-site and at-home learning experience for kindergarten through eighth grade students. In the fall of 2022, Grace Church launched this innovative schooling model, which merges the essential elements of private Christian education and homeschooling for an excellent, accessible, and biblical education. Grace Academy has campuses at Grace Church and near The Master’s University in Santa Clarita. It is designed to serve as an equipping educational partner with Christian families, proclaiming Christ and His Word to support students in their intellectual growth and character formation.
