Dr. John MacArthur is pastor-teacher of Grace Community Church. Following in the steps of his father, Dr. Jack MacArthur, John represents five successive generations of pastors in his family. He is also president of The Master's College and Seminary and is heard daily on "Grace to You," a nationally syndicated radio broadcast. The Grace to You ministry has distributed more than 10 million audiocassettes of his messages. John is also the author of many books, including The MacArthur New Testament Commentary series, The Gospel According to Jesus, and the newly-released The MacArthur Study Bible.

Clayton Erb

Minister of Music
Clayton coordinates and presides over Sunday services, concerts, and special events. He began his music ministry in his teens as pianist and organist for Bible conferences, radio and television, and traveling musical groups. After concluding his traveling ministry, he became minister of music at Gilead Baptist Church in Detroit, Michigan; First Baptist Church of Eugene, Oregon; and Westminster Chapel in Bellevue, Washington. Clayton's musical skills include choral conducting, composing, arranging, playing keyboard, and vocal coaching. He received his training at the University of Pennsylvania and through private instruction at Temple University and King's College, Briarcliff, New York.

Austin Duncan

Pastor, College Ministry | Staff Elder
Austin has served in student ministry for over a decade. After earning his undergraduate degree from the University of New Mexico, he moved to Los Angeles to attend The Master's Seminary in 2005. After serving as the junior high and high school pastor, he now serves as college pastor. He and his wife, Merilly, have two daughters and a son.

Kevin Edwards

Pastor, Outreach Ministries | Staff Elder
Kevin grew up as a missionary kid in Guatemala. Sensing God's call to minister the Word, Kevin completed training at The Master's Seminary in 1992. As the walls of communism were coming down, Kevin and Jill were sent out by Grace Church to minister in Russia in 1993. After one year of intensive language training, the Edwardses moved to Bryansk, Russia, to assist the Russian Baptist Church in establishing a pastoral training center, which is now under the leadership of trained Russian nationals. In 2000, the Edwardses moved to Samara, Russia, to assist the Russian Baptist Church in establishing a regional expository preaching training center. Kevin and Jill, along with their three sons, returned to Grace Community Church in October of 2003 for Kevin to join the pastoral staff.

Andrew Gutierrez

Pastor, High School Ministry
Andrew Gutierrez has served on the staff of Grace Church since 2007. Prior to serving as the high school pastor, he served in children’s ministries and with college and career age adults. Andrew began attending The Master’s Seminary in 2007. Prior to that he taught high school Government, United States History, and Economics and served as a Vice-Principal and Athletic Director. He received his B.A. in Political Science from California State University – Northridge. He and his wife, Michelle, have two sons.

Jesse Johnson

Pastor, Local Outreach Ministries | Staff Elder
Jesse oversees the Local Outreach Ministry, which includes Fundamentals of the Faith classes, local evangelism, and nine foreign-language Bible studies. He received his B.A. from the University of New Mexico, and his M. Div. from The Master's Seminary, where he now also serves as an adjunct professor. Prior to joining the Grace Church staff, he was a referee for Major League Soccer. He and his wife, Deidre, also lead the college ministry at Cal State Northridge.

Michael Mahoney

Pastor | Church Administrator | Staff Elder
Michael joined the staff in 2005 as Associate Pastor of Spanish Ministries and currently oversees the administration of that ministry and helps shepherd a staff of volunteers who minister faithfully each week. Michael has a missionary background in Latin America and has also served as senior pastor of a church for eight years in Oxnard, California. Michael received his M.Div. from The Master's Seminary. He and his wife, Madeline, have two daughters and a son.

Rick McLean

Pastor, Special Ministries
Rick graduated from The Master’s College with a degree in Christian education and also attended The Master’s Seminary, where he received a master of divinity degree. For six years Rick served in an outreach ministry of Grace Church to the homeless in L.A. He then served in the Sunday School ministry for six years. Since 2002, Rick has been the pastor over Special Ministries. This is ministry to the mentally and physically disabled people of the church. Rick also serves in the Pastoral Care Ministry. Rick and his wife, Janelle, serve together in these ministries.

Tom Patton

Pastor, Assimilation Ministries | Staff Elder
Tom has been on staff since 2001 and serves as the associate pastor over Assimilation, where he provides oversight to both the new visitor and church membership ministries. Tom earned his B.A. at The Master's College and his M.Div. at The Master's Seminary. He joined the Grace Church staff in 2003, serving as pastor to adult singles until 2006, when he became the pastor of Cornerstone, an adult fellowship group of newly married couples and families. Tom also has the privilege of serving as a part of the weekly syndicated television broadcast of Grace to You. He and his wife, Lori, have three sons.

Lance Quinn

Pastor, Grace Advance | Staff Elder
Lance served previously at Grace Church from 1986-1996 as a staff pastor, as well as John MacArthur’s personal assistant. From 1996-2011, he was the pastor-teacher of The Bible Church of Little Rock in Little Rock, Arkansas. He currently oversees Grace Advance, which seeks to provide pastoral leadership for developing churches. He also pastors the Joint Heirs fellowship group. He is a graduate of Arkansas State University, The Master’s Seminary (M.Div. and Th.M.), and the Evangelische Theologische Faculteit in Leuven, Belgium. He and his wife, Beth, have eight children.

Bill Shannon

Pastor, Discipleship Counseling | Staff Elder
Bill Shannon has served on staff since 1989. He is the pastor of FaithBuilders, a Sunday morning adult fellowship group, and Grace Community School.
Bill oversees and is actively involved in the biblical counseling ministry. He teaches discipleship counseling and marriage and family classes through Logos Equipping Ministries and provides formal and informal counseling for church members and regular attenders of Grace Church. He is also a member of the National Association of Nouthetic Counselors (NANC). Bill has also enjoyed opportunities to minister internationally, teaching at pastors' conferences and training centers in India and South Africa.
Bill graduated from Iona College (B.A.) in New Rochelle, New York, and earned his master of divinity degree from The Master's Seminary in Sun Valley, California. Bill and his wife, Donna, have two daughters.

Henry Tolopilo

Pastor, Spanish Ministries | Staff Elder
Henry has a missionary background, serving in Costa Rica and Mexico. He was also the director of curriculum development for LOGOI International in Miami, Florida. Henry is a graduate of Biola University (B.A. in Spanish literature), Talbot Theological Seminary (M.Div. in missions), and Dallas Theological Seminary (S.T.M.). He is presently a doctoral candidate in cross-cultural education at Biola University. Henry and his wife, Barbara, have two children.

Kelly Wright

Pastor, Junior High Ministry
Before moving to Southern California in 2002 to attend The Master's College, Kelly worked in student ministries in Anchorage, Alaska. After receiving his undergraduate degree, he began to attend The Master's Seminary. He now serves as pastor of the Grace Church junior high ministry. It is his joy to see students come to a greater love for Jesus Christ.
