For nearly two decades, Camp Regeneration has been an annual testament to the life-changing work of the Word. Every summer, high school students from across the country gather for a Scripture-saturated week focused on the person and work of Christ. Over the years, many have come to faith in Christ, while others have experienced a week of radical growth. This year, from July 18 to 24, around 1,200 high school students will travel to Camp Regen in Glorieta, New Mexico, for a week of epic fun, biblical preaching, and Christ-exalting worship. As is true every year, we are excited for this vital ministry that allows our students to enjoy an amazing, fun-filled week with God’s Word at the center.

This year’s theme is “The King Is Coming.” The moment Jesus ascended into heaven, two angels stood before His disciples and made a staggering promise: “This same Jesus… will come in the same way as you saw Him go into heaven” (Acts 1:11). Since that day, believers have lived with eager expectation, knowing that history is not spiraling aimlessly into an uncertain future but moving toward a definite moment: the return of the risen King. Yet nearly 2,000 years later, Christ has yet to return. God’s people often grow restless, forgetful, and perhaps even doubtful of Christ’s promise. The world mocks those who await the promise and reduces Jesus’s return to speculation and sensationalism. Some treat it like a conspiracy theory and many others avoid its reality altogether. But Scripture speaks about the return of Jesus with clarity, urgency, and hope. The King is coming—and His return changes everything.

For the believer, the second coming of Christ is not meant to produce fear, but faithfulness. Jesus repeatedly called His followers to stay awake, remain ready, and live holy lives as they wait for His appearing (Matt. 24:42; 1 Thess. 5:6). The returning King brings hope to the weary, comfort to the brokenhearted, justice to the oppressed, victory over sin, and eternal joy to those who have longed for His return (Phil. 3:20). But for those who reject Christ, His return guarantees judgment, and these present days are a reminder that time is running out (Matt. 25:46; 2 Thess. 1:7–8). In a world consumed with self-promoting kingdoms, mind-numbing distractions, and false saviors, we all must live in light of an eternity that is sure and a King who is surely coming.

Our prayer is that students who are confused about life, their purpose, and their future, and those who live ignorantly and defiantly toward the King would see that history is moving toward a glorious culmination when every knee will bow before Christ, and that God now calls all people everywhere to repent and believe in Him (Acts 17:30–31). And we want students who already know Christ as Savior to live with eager expectation of His return, growing in holiness, steadfast faith, and joyful hope as they await the appearing of their King (Titus 2:11–14; 1 John 3:2–3). Join us in praying for God’s abundant work at Camp Regen this year as we seek to disciple students to live in light of the coming King, standing firm in their faith and longing for the day when they will see Him face to face.

Ways to Partner

Camp Regeneration has always been a “whole church” ministry. It cannot exist without the partnership and support of the entire body. There are two primary ways you can help.

Pray. The greatest support you can provide is prayer. Our biggest need is for the Lord to work at camp beyond what we could ask or think. We would love prayer for the unbelievers who will join us, for the preaching of God’s Word, for conversions, and for spiritual growth.

Give. You can also partner with us by contributing to the Camp Scholarship Fund—a financial resource that allows us to say “yes” to our students and their unsaved friends who otherwise would not be able to attend. You can provide a full scholarship ($569), half scholarship ($285), or any amount you feel led to give. If you are interested, stop by the Regen table on Sunday mornings over the next three weeks, or go to gracechurch.org/180.

Our church family plays a critical role in the ministry we do at Camp Regen, and for that, we’re thankful. With camp less than a month away, we eagerly anticipate seeing fruit as the Lord works through His Word and through His church.

Support a student and their family by blessing them with a summer camp scholarship. This can be an incredible way to encourage a family in need and make it possible for a high schooler to attend a life-changing camp with Grace Church!
