Luke and Ruth Granlund

Harare, Zimbabwe

We are the Granlunds, Luke and Ruth. Our family is in the process, Lord willing, of preparing to move to Harare, Zimbabwe. Our goal is to come alongside Ruth’s brother, a TMS graduate who has been serving in Zimbabwe for over ten years and is currently one of the pastors at a local church in the capital city of Harare.

Before we desired to head to the mission field, Luke worked 13 years in marketing in the film industry, the past three years in the financial sector, and Ruth worked as an auditor before becoming a full-time mom after we got married. We independently came to Grace Church (Luke in 2006 and Ruth in 2004), and first met on a Short Term Ministry team to Uganda in 2011, and were married in 2018. We believe our years at Grace Church, and being raised up in various ministries including FOF, counseling, discipleship, and women’s ministry have equipped us to use our spiritual giftedness to strengthen the church in Zimbabwe.

Our Call to Zimbabwe

The call to Zimbabwe impressed our hearts when we saw the need for more laborers after getting frequent reports, personal visits, and prayer letters from Ruth’s brother. Over time, the Lord laid it on our hearts, through much prayer and discussion, to pursue full-time overseas ministry to help strengthen the church there and use our gifts in discipleship, counseling, evangelism, church planting, admin as well as men’s and women’s ministry.

It is our strong desire to be used as instruments in God’s drawing of His elect from every tribe, tongue, and nation to Himself through the proclamation of His glorious gospel and the raising up of obedient and faithful disciples, particularly in Zimbabwe.

Current Ministry Goals

• Remain faithful in current GCC ministries
• Luke to work towards completion of the final phase of ACBC certification
• Completion of GMI training
• To raise prayer and financial support for our ministry in Zimbabwe

• Pray we would bring glory to God in our family and in all that we do
• Pray that we would continue to develop relationships with the team in Zimbabwe
• Pray that we would trust the Lord’s timing for all His provision
• Pray that we would remain humble and dependent servants of Christ
