Bio – Luis and Diana Silva

Diana and I were both born and raised in Colombia. In 2007, we moved to Australia for work, but God used our time there to transform our hearts, and to reshape our goals and passions. As we served in our local church, the Lord called us into ministry, redirected our lives and ignited a deep desire in us to serve His kingdom. Understanding the need to be well-equipped for this call, In 2021, we moved to Los Angeles for Luis to attend The Master’s Seminary and for Diana to study Biblical Counseling at The Master’s University. Since then, we have been serving at Grace Community Church in Spanish Ministry.

Main Ministry Goal

As we have prayed and reflected on the best model for our next steps in serving the LORD, the Great Commission remains our primary call. Christ has commanded us to proclaim His gospel and to make disciples for His glory. This mission involves evangelizing the lost, teaching and instructing them in the truth, and shepherding their souls through biblical counseling and pastoral care. For accomplishing this task, we will join the Morales family (GMI missionaries) in Iglesia Cristiana Bíblica de Pereira (ICBP), a church plant in Pereira, Colombia.

Pereira is a city with about six hundred thousand inhabitants, who live in the despair of drug trafficking, violence, and lawlessness. Because of the focus on preaching the pure gospel of Christ, teaching Scripture, and refusing to manipulate congregants with an emotional appeal, the church plant there has had a rapid growth, and the leadership is in much need of help to shepherd the body.

We look forward to applying the knowledge and skills we’ve gained through our training at TMS and TMU, as well as the invaluable mentoring we’ve received from the pastors and elders at GCC as we serve in ICBP.

Prayer requests and thanksgiving

Pray that the LORD may expedite our move by raising ministry partners that may join us in prayer and Christ-like love for His church in Colombia.

Pray that in His grace, our service in ICBP may bear fruit that brings glory to His name and much spiritual growth to His Church.

Rejoice with us as we see His sovereign plan taking us to Pereira as an answer to the prayers of a church thirsty for His word.
