A New Year of Faith Promise

For Santiago Armel and Michael Dennis and their families, the last two years have been years of fruitful ministry in Cali, Colombia.

“Being part of the Grace Community Church family has been a blessing for us. For several years we received theological training at The Master’s Seminary and practical training at Grace Church. Through your prayerful and financial support, we continue to feel like you are close to us even though distance separates us.

By the grace of God, we have been able to plant Iglesia Biblica Cristiana de Cali (IBCC or Christian Bible Church of Cali). A group that started with 15 people two years ago today is a congregation that is influencing more than 100 families in the city with a weekly attendance of over 400 people. In the coming weeks, we will have over 100 people who have taken the entire FOF course and have gone through a careful membership process.

While the numbers amaze us, it is the supernatural work that God is doing amid his people here in Colombia that is important. We have had the privilege of experiencing genuine conversions; we praise God because of the testimonies we have heard in the waters of baptism. In addition to salvation, we have recently observed a powerful work of sanctification. We are seeing marriages restored and lives changed by the gospel! There are many more testimonies to share than space will allow, but we want you to know that God is at work and that your generosity is contributing to what God is doing here!

We particularly want to thank you for your Faith Promise support. Because of your faithful support, we have been able to give away hundreds of copies of the MacArthur Study Bible and Biblical Doctrine to church members and seminary students. We know that your support and prayers have not been in vain, and that God in His grace will reward your generosity. Please continue to pray for us.”

It is remarkable to see how the Lord works in His people around the world to proclaim the saving message of the gospel, and it is our joy and privilege to participate in that work through prayer and giving toward our missionaries. One of the most important ways our church body supports missionaries like Santiago and Michael is through the Faith Promise initiative. For over eleven years Faith Promise has played a significant role in sending new missionaries to the field, supporting our affiliated training centers, meeting missionary budget shortfalls, covering administrative costs, and funding the gospel ministry efforts of these faithful servants around the globe.

This Sunday and next, you will find a Faith Promise commitment card in Grace Today. Please prayerfully consider what amount the Lord might provide for you to contribute over the next twelve months above your regular giving. Cards can be filled out anonymously and then dropped in the offering or returned to the Faith Promise Patio table April 30 and May 7. Remember, the amount you give is not as important as your prayerful participation, because we know that through His people, He will indeed provide the resources necessary for His gospel to go forth around the world.
