And God saw everything that He had made, and behold, it was very good. – Genesis 1:31
As believers, it is our great duty and privilege to share the Good News of the gospel. And here at Grace Church, one of the more intentional ways we get to do this is through Vacation Bible School, coming again this summer, June 17–20. As we welcome hundreds of little ones from both our church and the local community for a week full of fun activities, our ultimate prayer is that these children will receive and accept the gospel message.
This year at VBS, our kids will embark on an adventure to learn of the goodness of our Creator in the work of salvation. They will learn that it was in the beginning, in God’s good garden, where the story of redemption began. It was here that sin first entered the world and corrupted all of creation. They will learn that what was once perfect is now broken and in need of rescuing and that, in His kindness, God promised to send a Savior! They will then discover that it was by God’s grace and love that He sent this Savior, His Son Jesus Christ, to save sinners—and that Christ accomplished this by dying on a cross and rising from the grave.
What a remarkable responsibility we share as a church to sow the Good News of the gospel into the hearts of our beloved children—planting and watering seeds of truth, confident that God will give the growth (1 Corinthians 3:6–9).
Registration is now open for VBS. We expect this summer’s VBS to be even bigger than last year, and are anticipating over 1,000 children to fill our campus. We are so excited to see how the Lord works this year!
As parents sign up their children to attend, we want to invite you to join us in prayer for the children, their families, and the countless members of our church who will participate in VBS. Pray that the gospel of Jesus Christ would be communicated clearly and that hearts would be receptive to God’s saving truth.
