The Life and Ministry of John MacArthur
“Remember your leaders, who spoke the word of God to you; and considering the result of their conduct, imitate their faith. Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.”
Hebrews 13:7–8
For 56 years, Pastor John dedicated himself to the study and proclamation of the Word of God. John’s steadfast defense of both the Lordship of Christ and the sufficiency of Scripture defined his theological commitments and formed an approach to ministry that became an example to multiple generations of pastors around the world.
Shepherds Conference 2026 will celebrate the biblical convictions and pastoral priorities that characterized the life and ministry of our pastor, friend, and fellow worker in the gospel, John MacArthur. This conference will reflect on John’s example and, ultimately, point to the Chief Shepherd, who is building His church through the ministry of faithful shepherds under His charge.
Since its inception in 1980, the mission of Shepherds Conference has been to “provide the opportunity for men in church leadership to be challenged in their commitment to biblical ministry and to find encouragement together as servants of our Chief Shepherd.” This year’s conference is an amazing opportunity to celebrate Pastor John’s life and legacy with friends and ministry partners from all over the world, and at the same time to continue this mission of challenging and encouraging these men by exploring the convictions and commitments that marked Pastor John’s ministry. As with every Shepherds Conference, these three days will be filled with biblical preaching, heartfelt worship, and meaningful fellowship.
We appreciate your prayers and your continued service in the truth. As we enter a new season of ministry here at Grace Church, let’s continue to remain faithful to the Word of God in every respect and run with endurance the race that is set before us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith.
