Children’s Ministry is dedicated to sowing the seed of God’s Word in the hearts of children. This past week, we were able to do that as we hosted Vacation Bible School. More than 400 faithful volunteers—some as young as junior high—came together to serve the more than 1,000 children who attended VBS, and every one of these precious kids finished the week having heard the gospel of Jesus Christ. Over one-third of the children who attended came as guests, and 140 of those guests were kids from our neighborhood. The seed of God’s Word was sown, and we know God will use it for His glory.
This year’s theme was “Racin’ Around the World.” Framed by an ongoing evangelistic presentation, the children learned five commands God gives Christians for living in the world. They learned that the Bible calls us to love, obey, pray, be born again, and go tell others about Jesus. These commands were reinforced through teaching, music, crafts, games, and skits. We also showcased some of our missionaries who are living these commands out all around the world. This was a great opportunity for the children to learn that, no matter who you are or where you live, you were designed to glorify God by being obedient to His Word.
Tonight we have an opportunity to celebrate what God has done this past week. We will be holding our annual Family Festival Plaza Fellowship, and we have invited all the families from VBS to come back and join us. Please join us after the evening service for a wonderful time of fun, fellowship, and community outreach as we praise the Lord for the work He’s done through Vacation Bible School 2018!
