Kendall moved from his hometown of Columbus, Ohio to the Los Angeles area in 2009. He entered pastoral ministry in 2010 and married his wife, Tessera, in 2012. The following year, along with five fellow-pastors, Kendall planted Redeemed South Bay (RSB), the church he currently serves as pastor/elder in Torrance, California. In 2014, he began studying at The Master’s Seminary where he eventually received his M.Div., Th.M., and Ph.D., with a focus on historical and systematic theology. Kendall’s Ph.D. dissertation examined Eastern Orthodox soteriology in comparison with biblical Christian sanctification. Kendall is one of two full-time pastors and one of four primary teaching-pastors at RSB, where he serves in various other capacities. Kendall and Tessera have one daughter (Calliope) and three boys (Judah, Theodore, and Otto).
