Looking to Jesus

There’s no one like Jesus. He is the perfect image of God, the radiance of His glory, and the exact representation of His nature. He is mighty King and gentle Shepherd. He is matchless in power yet can sympathize with our weakness. He is righteous Judge and kind Comforter. He is salvation for sinners and eternal life for all who trust in Him. There is truly no one more worthy of our worship and focus than Jesus.

In a world where so much can easily distract and discourage us, there is unshakable hope and joy to be found in Christ. Yet, having sustained hope and joy in this life requires endurance—an endurance that, according to Hebrews 12:2, comes by, “looking to Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith.”

This audio was recorded from Camp Regeneration 2022, July 29–August 2 in Glorieta, New Mexico. Please note that unfortunately not all sessions were recorded because of technical difficulties.

This message takes a look at the heart of what Christian worship should be from the perspective of both the ones who lead musically and those who participate in it as the body of Christ.

For the Christian, life is not just about celebrating waiting Jesus has done, but looking forward to His return (1 Thess 1:10, Phil 3:20). But who is the Jesus we are waiting for, and why should we be so excited about Him coming back? This sermon looks at the living Christ in Revelation 1:5-7, which provides a glorious and beautiful view of Christ that is meant to increase our affections for Him and bolster our faithfulness to Him.
