NASB Scripture Study Notebook: 1-3 John & Jude
Ideal notebook for personal study of 1-3 John and Jude.
1, 2, 3 John: Redemption’s Certainty
by John Hannah • This commentary on the letters of John by John Hannah provides a reliable and accessible explanation of the biblical text.
Life in Christ: Studies in 1 John
by D. Martyn Lloyd-Jones • This large resource (over 700 pages) combines in one book what was originally five different series of expositions on 1 John—one on each chapter of John’s letter.
The Epistles of John: An Expositional Commentary
D. Edmund Hiebert • For those wanting to go deeper in their study of 1 John, this commentary provides an excellent intermediate-level treatment of the biblical text.
The Letters of John, 2nd edition
by Colin G. Kruse • One of the best intermediate-level commentaries available on 1 John. Although it does reference the original Greek text, it is still very accessible to those who know little Greek.
1-3 John Commentary (MacArthur New Testament Commentary Series)
by John MacArthur • Based on pastor John’s verse-by-verse exposition of the Johannine letters, this commentary is the most helpful, accessible commentary on 1 John.
